As a reminder a Suit, Alpha Blazer, or Coat and Tie is the required attire for attending the Board Meeting, all Business Sessions and the Miss Black & Old Gold Scholarship Competition. Line Jackets and Sweaters are not a substitute for a Suit, Alpha Blazer, Coat and Tie.

We have designated Saturday, November 23, 2019 as Black and Old Gold Day, so please wear a Black Suit or Alpha Blazer, white shirt and Black and Gold Tie.

Our Southern Region Assistant Vice-President Emmanuel Dawson and the Southern Region Vice-President Kelsey Rushing will be in attendance at the convention on Friday.  Please plan to be in full attendance to greet our Regional Leadership.

The Host Alumni Chapter, Alpha Chi Lambda, is hosting a Brotherhood Smoke and a Black and Gold Wild Out Party on Friday evening. On Saturday, they are also hosting an All Black Affair. I encourage you to support them in these endeavors. Additionally, Alpha Chi Lambda and the Phil H. Waring Education Foundation are soliciting ads for our annual Souvenir Ad Journal. The last day to purchase ads are Tuesday, November 5, 2019. All checks for ad’s should be made to the Phil H. Waring Educational Foundation.

Brothers, as you plan to sojourn to Augusta to take care of Alpha Business, lets come prepared to extend the hand of Brotherly and Fraternal Love while also opening our minds to receive information that will help us arm and prepare ourselves to be better servants in our communities.

As we look upon the horizon at celebrating 113 years of Manly Deeds, Scholarship and Love for All Mankind, we have to be mindful that in 2020 there are matters that speak directly to the essence and mission of being an Alpha Man. In 2020, there is work to be done around the Census and it will also be a Presidential Election Year. The work of galvanizing our communities around voter registration, voter education and voter mobilization has never been more important. Let’s be prepared to leave Augusta motivated and inspired to color Augusta and the State of Georgia Black and Old Gold as we Heed The Call. I look forward to seeing each of you in Augusta.

Fraternally yours in the bond,

Sherman M. Lofton, Jr.
